01 / THE WORKFLOW

A website to get started.
A local app to do the work.

The companion opens a separate Chrome or Edge window. You sign into Adobe there, choose separate folders for regular files and Express exports, and start both phases together.

01

Set up once

Windows: download the app installer, then open 2webit Cloud Backup from the Start menu. Python and dependencies are included. Mac: extract the source kit, complete its confirmed dependency setup, then open Start Backup.command.

02

Choose what to copy

Set the date range and source file types before scanning. For Express, choose Adobe Express projects as a source type, then choose its export formats. Sign into Adobe, scan Your files and its subfolders, then review folders and check which matching files to include.

03

Let the queue run

Regular files download first. Express opens next in the same browser session. File and folder errors are logged and skipped. A folder failure clearly marks the inventory as partial; sign-in or layout issues pause the batch.

YOUR BACKUP, YOUR CHOICE

Bring everything.
Or just what you need.

First choose dates and file types without scanning. Then scan to discover folders and files, review matching counts, and check which items to include.

WHEN

Choose a date range

Before scanning, choose last 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or Everything. Uses the modified date. Choose whether to include unknown dates and uncertain matches from Adobe’s rounded date labels.

WHAT

Check several file types

Photoshop, Illustrator, JPEG, PNG, PDF, SVG, TIFF, video, audio and more. Enable Express projects separately, then choose PSD, PNG, PDF, MP4 or PowerPoint exports where offered.

WHERE

Pick folders and skip items

After scanning, select cloud folders and use Select all files, Clear all files or individual checkboxes. Skipped items stay visible so you can include them again. Your selection is saved for resume; changing filters creates a separate queue and may save additional copies.

02 / WHAT COMES WITH YOU

One backup.
Two kinds of creative files.

Cloud documents and Express projects use different Adobe download workflows. The kit includes both.

Your familiar file formats.

Copies files when Adobe’s file list offers a Download action. Photoshop and Illustrator cloud documents use Adobe’s export; uploaded images, PDFs, and other downloadable files are copied through the same queue.

03 / KEEP CREATING, FOR FREE

Downloaded your files?
Find an app to open them.

You can use free, open-source desktop apps to work with some of your downloaded creative files. ArtCraft offers a collection of apps for different kinds of creative work.

Explore the ArtCraft apps

The ArtCraft site describes its apps as native desktop software for Windows, macOS, and Linux that works with files on your computer. Browse its app list to find an option for your workflow, then check that app’s page for supported file types and download instructions.

These apps are alternatives to explore, not guaranteed one-for-one replacements for Adobe Creative Cloud. Support for Adobe formats and features can vary, so test important files and exports before relying on them.

Browse free ArtCraft apps

ArtCraft is a separate third-party project, not affiliated with Adobe or 2webit. Review its licensing, system requirements, and download details on the project site.

04 / READY WHEN YOU ARE

Make some room
on your hard drive.

A Windows desktop app or Mac source kit, running on your own computer. No 2webit account or Adobe password form on this website.

YOU’LL NEED

Mac users: extract the ZIP before running it. The Windows app bundles Python, Tk, Playwright and its driver. It uses installed Chrome or Edge and does not update them. The Mac source kit still requires Python and its separate, confirmed dependency setup. The Mac kit is a source package with a launcher, not a signed standalone app. Each scan also saves a CSV inventory for Excel and a printable browser summary with counts, selection matches, and failed folders. Reports stay on your computer. Check important exports before relying on a backup.

START HERE / STEP-BY-STEP SETUP

Choose your computer.
Follow its setup steps.

Windows includes its own runtime; install the app and open it. The Mac source kit still requires Python and its launcher. You do not need to open or edit the individual .py files.

WINDOWS 10 / 11 · X64

Windows app setup

  1. Check the requirements. Use Windows 10/11 x64 and installed Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Python is included, along with the required libraries. No system Python installation or dependency setup is needed.
  2. Download the installer. Choose Download Windows app. This is an unsigned preview intended for testing.
  3. Install for your user account. Run the downloaded Setup EXE. It installs only the 2webit app and a Start menu shortcut, without administrator access. It does not upgrade system Python, pip, Chrome, or Edge.
  4. Open the app. Choose 2webit Cloud Backup from the Start menu. Set criteria, sign into Adobe, choose destination folders, review and apply the selection, then test five files. The app checks its packaged files and whether a supported browser is installed.

Then follow “Start your first backup” below.

Settings, errors and uninstalling

Settings and startup.log are kept in %LOCALAPPDATA%\2webit\AdobeCloudBackup. Uninstall through Windows Settings → Apps. Your backup folders and saved settings are retained. The file checks detect changed or damaged bundled files; this preview is not digitally signed.

macOS 14 SONOMA OR LATER

Mac setup

Intel and Apple Silicon targets. This preview has not yet been tested on a Mac.

  1. Check your macOS version. Open Apple menu → About This Mac. This kit requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Macs running macOS 13 or earlier cannot use this preview, even with Chrome installed.
  2. Install Python and a browser. Open the official Python for Mac page and choose the Python 3.14 macOS installer (universal2, for Intel and Apple Silicon). Use its normal installation, which includes Tcl/Tk; Python 3.11 or newer is required. Also install Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Safari is not supported for downloading.
  3. Download and extract the kit. Choose Download Mac kit. Double-click the ZIP in Finder, then open the extracted folder.
  4. Open the launcher. Double-click Start Backup.command. Start Backup installs nothing. For a new kit, first run Setup Dependencies.command and type INSTALL after reviewing its explanation. It installs Playwright only inside this kit folder and does not upgrade system Python. After setup, run Start Backup again. Startup errors are saved in startup.log.

Then follow “Start your first backup” below.

If the Mac launcher will not open

If extraction lost the launch permission, open Terminal, type bash followed by a space, drag Start Backup.command from Finder into Terminal, and press Return. If setup reports an older macOS version or missing Python, address that message first. For certificate or Tk errors, note the exact message for troubleshooting.

AFTER SETUP / BOTH COMPUTERS

Start your first backup.

Use the buttons inside the backup app. Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud, not Apple iCloud.

  1. Set criteria before scanning. Click Set dates & file types (before scanning). Choose your date range, check the source file types and choose Express export formats if wanted. Click Save criteria. This does not scan or download any files.
  2. Sign into Adobe and open Your files. Click Open Adobe / sign in. Sign into your Adobe account and the correct profile in the separate Chrome or Edge window. Open Your files, clear Adobe’s search/type filters, and use list view.
  3. Choose two local folders. Select one destination for regular files and a different destination for Express exports. Use separate backup folders for different Adobe accounts.
  4. Scan, then review folders and files. Click Scan & review folders/files. The app reads the inventory and applies your saved date/type criteria. Select the folders to include, then open Matching files / skip items. Use Select all files, Clear all files or individual Include checkboxes. Skipped files stay visible. Click Apply selection when the counts look right.
  5. Test a few files. Click Test 5 in each phase. Open the downloaded files in your editing program and check the results before continuing.
  6. Start the full selection. Click Start / Resume both phases. Matching regular files download first; Express follows automatically into its own folder. If Adobe asks for another sign-in, complete it in the same browser window and resume.
  7. Leave it running. Keep the backup app and its browser open. On Mac, keep its Terminal window open too. Keep the computer awake. Use Pause to stop between files, and review each destination’s .adobe-backup reports afterward.
A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Before you press go.

Does the website receive my Adobe files or password?

No. This static website supplies the kit. The companion signs into Adobe in a temporary local Chrome or Edge session and saves files to your chosen folder. No Adobe password is entered on 2webit.com and no files are routed through it.

Can I download everything from every Adobe service?

This preview covers downloadable items in Adobe’s Your files interface and Express projects found in that inventory. It is not an account-wide export of all Adobe services. Unsupported files, including XD documents without an export action, are reported for separate handling.

What happens if I stop or a file fails?

Use Pause to stop between files, then resume with the same destination and Adobe account/profile. Completed copies are checked and skipped. Known failures stay logged until you choose Retry failed files. Keep the .adobe-backup bookkeeping folder and avoid rescanning just to resume.

Will this delete or overwrite my work?

The tool uses download and export actions. Cloud originals stay in place, and existing local files receive separate copies rather than being overwritten. Use a different backup directory for each Adobe account.

Is this an Adobe product?

No. 2webit Cloud Backup is an independent utility. Adobe, Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Express are trademarks of their respective owner. This preview is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe.
